Uttoxeter Saturday 8th October 1988 Racecard
On 8th October 1988, Uttoxeter Racecourse hosted a special day known as Regiments of Staffordshire Day. While this wasn’t one of the big national race meetings, it was a day full of local pride. The races were named after military units like the Staffordshire Regiment and Staffordshire Yeomanry, celebrating the region’s deep connection to its military history. It was a day for the local community to come together, watch some competitive racing, and honour the soldiers who had served the area.
