Folkestone Summer Races Racecard – Second Day, Tuesday 9th August 1932

An original Folkestone Summer Races racecard from Westenhanger Park, covering the Second Day of the meeting held on Tuesday 9th August 1932, presented in fragile condition. This historic race programme offers a fascinating glimpse into British flat racing from the early 1930s and represents a genuine piece of racing heritage.

The six-race card featured selling plates, handicap races and two-year-old events, including:

  • 2.00 – The Harbour All-Aged Selling Plate – 5 furlongs
  • 2.30 – The Walmer Two-Yrs-Old Selling Plate – 5 furlongs
  • 3.00 – The Dungeness Handicap Plate – 1 mile 7 furlongs & 100 yards
  • 3.30 – The Saltwood Two-Yrs-Old Plate – 6 furlongs
  • 4.00 – The Three-Yrs-Old Handicap Plate – 1¼ miles
  • 4.30 – The Hawkinge Welter Plate – 1½ miles

The day’s winners included Canfield, Servidor, Kama, Venetian Lady, Nest Egg and Iron Ration, with jockeys and trainers from the leading racing centres of the period including Newmarket and Epsom.
